We are the hub of the commissioned art economy. We connect all members of the industry, matching creative talent with creative opportunities, and providing digital tools that streamline the commission workflow process.
The world of design + art is changing around us. Artists and design professionals are working collaboratively to create amazing projects that raise awareness about environmental and social issues, educate us about the importance of innovation and creativity, contribute to healing and hospitality environments, and develop community engagement and pride. Others create commissioned art projects that beautify and transform the spaces in which we live, work and play.
It takes an industry to create a commissioned artwork. Our community consists of artists, designers, and architects, as well as art consultants, public art administrators, fabricators, foundries, lighting designers, engineers, photographers, and landscape architects - all of whom are artists and highly-skilled craftsmen in their own right.

- Commissioned art matters. Attention to the details of our environment leads to love of place, which brings us to take responsibility for the spaces where we live and work. And by extension, responsibility for the people with whom we live and work. And by extension, to our local communities, our cities, our nations, and our world.
- We champion the role of artists in our society. We need artists to provide us with inspiration, creativity, and imagination, and to help us envision a better world.
- Architects and designers know that remarkable design can change everything. They connect the dots across disciplines, collaborating with artists to make the world a more beautiful place.
- In the process, design professionals promote imagination and creativity, and through their commissions, make original art integral to and accessible in people's lives.

Toni Sikes is the founder of two other art companies, The Guild Sourcebooks, a directory publishing company, and Artful Home, a pioneer ecommerce company. In more than 25 years in the art industry, Toni has become recognized as a leading expert on marketing art, and is a frequent juror and lecturer. Toni is also a General Partner in Calumet Venture Fund, and was previously a Senior Advisor at Gruppo Levey & Co., a New York investment bank. She currently serves as Chairman of the Wisconsin Technology Council. Sikes has a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Alabama, and an M.S. in market research from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Sally spent years producing television commercials prior to finding her way to the arts. She did artist outreach for Guild.com in its first year, which gave her the foundation she needed to became a professional coach with a specialty in empowering artists to thrive in the business of art. She has a degree in Radio, TV & Film from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a M.A. in communications from the Annenberg School of Communications at USC
Stefanie has a comprehensive and varied background in the non-profit arts sector and worked for ten years in Arts Administration and Management for a professional theatre company in Minnesota. Her Bachelor of Arts degree is from Luther College with a focus in Theatre and Music, and she is also a professional actor and singer. Stefanie is extremely passionate about the arts and incorporating art into all facets of life.
Bill Kunkler - Financial Advisor
Bill Kunkler is a Certified Public Accountant and a licensed real estate broker. He holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation and has extensive financial management experience in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.
Bill formed Kunkler Business Services in 2010 to provide part-time "outsourced CFO" services to early stage companies. As trusted business advisor, he helps business owners manage their accounting and finance functions, connects them with business sources that can help them grow, and provides useful financial information to facilitate management decisions.
Matthew Peterson - Metrics Adviser
Matt has led businesses delivering software tools, online services, and real-world events for creative professionals ranging from design engineers to architects to VFX artists. Matt has served as an executive with companies making tools for computer-aided design and digital postproduction, founded SWI to bring media creatives together with the computer and telecommunications industries during the digital transition, and was co-founder of MyWeather to integrate on-air/online content, brands, and metrics for the television industry. Matt has a B.A. in Communications from Boston College, studied computer graphics at Brown University and fine arts at the Rhode Island School of Design, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School's International Strategic Marketing Management program in Europe.
Danny has a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from UW-Madison. After graduation, he joined the Peace Corps and for two years taught English in the Ukraine to middle and high school students. Upon returning to the States, he worked with a translation agency.
Much of Danny's at CODAworx is spent organizing and planning new features and updates to the website. He enjoys working with developers and hearing feedback from our members. Additionally, through his own artistic talents in writing, Danny eagerly promotes CODAworx artists and design professionals as Editor of the CODAmagazine.
Nick has a varied background in business and the arts. With a B.A. in Mass Communications from Miami University, Nick has worn many different hats in his career, including owner of Silver Lightning Media, social media marketer, project manager, and digital services manager. After taking a short break to ride his bicycle and hike the southwest, he found his home at CODAworx. As the Online Marketing Manager at CODAworx, Nick leads the online marketing and social media effort. Feel free to reach out to Nick with ideas for marketing partnerships.
Prior to joining the CODAworx team, Nicole Carroll advised Artists on sales, and online marketing through lectures, artist boot camps, and individual consultations. She has created and presented marketing programming for the American Craft Council, NY Now Shows, Smithsonian Craft Show, and the New York Foundation for the Arts – among others. Nicole Carroll has a BA in Liberal Arts from Eastern Washington University and a certificate in Fundraising from New York University.
Aly started working at CODAworx after 3 years of self employment as a studio potter, creating work to sell at various art fairs and galleries around the Midwest. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Photography, and photographs weddings, family and children's portraits, business accounts, and various local events.
Coming from an art background, Aly is happy to be working at CODAworx. It offers yet another opportunity to be immersed in the art world, and to continue doing what she loves!
After earning her degree in Art History from UW- Madison, Jenifer developed strong communication skills through diverse opportunities such as conserving outdoor sculpture and a historic church, assisting collections management in an art museum, as well as designing and managing a temporary store in a gallery space.
She's spent most of her career in the music industry working in Publicity, Marketing, and Digital Marketing. My background includes creating strategic marketing plans and managing multiple high-profile digital platforms simultaneously in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment with close monitoring of new trends in social media channels.
Mariana has a Bachelor of Science in Media, Culture and Communication from New York University. While living in New York, she worked in a variety of creative fields including fashion production and corporate retail. She is ecstatic to be back to her Midwestern roots at CODAworx! Mariana utilizes her energetic mindset and strong research chops to support CODAworx's Artist and Industry community members.
When she's not at the office, you can find Mariana hiking at a state park or rollerblading by the lake.
Matthew graduated from Ripon College with a degree in English and a minor in history. He has always been a fan of the arts, including a long history in the performing arts. Wanderlust is the best adjective to describe Matthew as he is always looking forward to his next travel opportunity. His free time is spent catching up on TV shows and watching classic films; his favorites include An Affair to Remember, Psycho, and Silence of the Lambs. Matthew’s time at CODAworx began as intern managing the RFP listing and he now serves to support the sales team.
Davy has an expansive background in design, project management and web development. Before coming to CODAworx he worked in a variety of industries including healthcare, broadcast media, film, festivals, publishing and mobile app development.
Davy received his B.S and M.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He volunteers on his neighborhood association board, is an alumni advisor to The Badger Herald and serves as chief election official at his local voting ward. He is currently building a CNC router in his garage and continues to provide technical support to his parents' 23-year-old Mac Performa 636CD.
Emily developed a passion for art at a young age, her mother an artist; she quite literally grew up in the art world. This led to her study of Art History at University of Wisconsin - Madison. She brings a varied background of art and fashion to her role. She spent 5 years as a visual merchandiser and retail manager, as well as serving as volunteer coordinator for ART Santa Fe.
Emily joined the CODAworx team as an intern, helping to launch the Industry Directory. She is thrilled to return in this new role and looks forward to assisting artists, design professionals, and industry resources.
